Dubuque Esports League (DEL) is committed to fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive gaming community that provides esports and STEM opportunities for EVERYONE! DEL pledges to treat every person with dignity and respect and works to ensure that happens both in person and within our online community. One of the advantages of esports is how diverse and inclusive the community is. 

Gender, nationality, and physical strength don’t matter when you are shooting in the eye of the storm of Fortnite or building pyramids and plateaus in Minecraft. Plus, diverse player communities are more fun and more competitive. Our players will be educated on diversity, inclusion, and fairness in competitive gaming while DEL coaches, staff, and volunteers are trained to work specifically to level up each athlete. 

Our gaming ecosystem includes having an ADA-compliant facility, wheelchair-accessible desks, and adaptive gaming equipment. We also have a room that we are developing with local schools to support those with anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders. Plus, we offer scholarships for those 18 and under who do not have the ability to pay for our services.

Lastly, we are working to ensure that typically underrepresented esports populations like females and African-American are an active part of our ecosystem. This includes programs, community partnerships, and highlighting role models in online content to reach these populations.
