Esports Update: March 3, 2022

Welcome to the first of our esports updates.

These updates are to ensure everyone is up to date with the future of DEL.

In these updates you can expect the following topics to be discussed:

Team

- The DEL team organization structure currently consists of Co-Executive directors Susie Quinn and Shelby Wartick. They are spearheading the fundraising and operations to get the DEL facility off the ground, develop the STEM programs and much more
- Drew “Elseweyr” Walton, Esports Director, will be focused on creating the league structures and community while the facility buildout takes place
- Grace Pauleova, Esports Ops Intern is helping in a variety of areas including research and accounting
- Discord Moderators G0rb, Fish, and Luke. They are currently volunteers so especially make sure they receive respect and thanks for helping as we get started. If you’re ever interested in helping with discord operations, let one of us know.

- Current opportunities to get involved include summer camp director and gaming assistant. Head to the careers page for information on those roles. //dbqesports.org/careers

Games

- Our goal with leagues and game opportunities is to balance skill, accessibility, community and reward. We want to provide athletes and members value by offering growth opportunities. All fostering the most important piece, fun
- As we build our community digitally, we will be hosting weekly friendlies featuring Fortnite. Fortnite has proved to connect with our esports opportunity goals and will be the first discord community event

- Events will be available on Elseweyr’s twitch channel for spectating. // twitch.tv/elseweyr21

Development

- Our facility on dodge street is currently in early development. We are working with contractors to renovate the existing electrical, plumbing and building layout to fit our facility goals
- We have planned for a training room with 20 gaming PCs. A player locker / storage area and a space for player decompressing
- As the development progresses we will continue to share more facility updates

Events

- We will be hosting online social events where people from our community can come together to play Fortnite. Find new teammates and connections
- AMA during live streams and events

- Summer Camps

  • Available June - Aug.
